powershot a590 by canon
originally owned by my friend, i had my eye on this camera for a while because i was a really big fan of the design, and this was also around the time i began my dive into photography as an interest. i ended up buying the camera off him for 20 bucks and a trade with a different camera i had owned a more expensive 1080p camera i had gotten for christmas.
the a series of canon powershots started their line as far back 1998 with the a5 model, and the last powershot models came out around with the release of the of the a4000 is model in 2012. my specific camera is from 2008, which considering the date is amazing as this camera has quite the impressive quality.
with a 8.0 mp and a max resolution of 3264 x 2448, this camera is crystal freaking clear, in most of my photos details- especially up close just look so clean and nice. the camera is quite literally point and shoot, its such a maliable camera too with a PLETHORA of options and settings to mess with. it's a great beginner camera with preset modes and everything- for stuff like portraits and whatnot. the camera also auto adjusts its brightness when switching to flash so you can properly hone in your setting before taking a photo, which i just find really helpful.
below are some example photos (however i have more on my flickr album here)
viewcam vl-e39u by sharp
a few weeks ago i was with my friend and we stopped by this thrift store because we had just finished up turning some change into cash and had just eaten some food and i convinced him to take a random street to see what we find, and we bike for a bit and find this store with an ambulance outside and some elderly lady fell into a coffee table outside and cut her arm open and shit, just crazy timing. anyway shes fine we walked in and we're looking around, its a packed little store and the first thing we spotted was this nice sony tv that had just gotten dropped off, but we decided to put it the side for later. (scroll down to the tv section for more info)
eventually we were in the back, looking at the isle full of tech and whatnot, it was just mostly cables, alarm clocks, other junk, but we spotted this bag and my friend pulls it out and what do you know. its this big ass camcorder with batteries and a charger and everything. ONLY 6 BUCKS TOO... crazy fucking steal!!!! unfortunetly either the camcorder has issues or the batteries are fucked because i cant seem to turn it on, and the batteries don't charge properly in their charger, so im gonna end up buying a new charger and batteries.
but from what i've seen online this is a decent little camcorder. the vl-e39 was released in 1992? and uses 8mm tapes as its media format. honestly i cant find alot on this camera because its just such a specific model but it's both a video and a camera so thats pretty nice. i can't say alot about the quality until i actually... get to use it. sucks with old tech like this cuz i don't get to test it!!!
cheap camcorder from "sosun"
i got this digital camcorder from my mom after she dug it out of her closet, its only about 6-7 (haha) years old but im pretty sure its just a cheap easy to produce camera from china. i remember finding a video of my mom's friend (she had lent it to her or something) testing it out by recording like a few minutes of her dogs and then she just like. forgot to end the video so theres just this like 20 minute long video until the camcorder ran out of storage. wish i had that saved lol but other then that its.. ok.
the camera says it can do 1080p but its 1080p in like. 15fps. i recorded a whole video on that thing and posted it here so you can be the judge if its adiquite enough but honestly half the time it would just be really blown out in bright enviroments and in somewhat dark enviroments you couldn't see shit lol. it also just couldn't capture details that well. but for what it is its an alright camera and its what i used for like a year before i just decided to use my phone or get a new camera.
heres some photos from the camera below (flickr album w more photos here)
